What is the best brand to focus on desktops and laptops that are fast and clear video viewing and editing your work, but not Mac? I’m not on programs that come with it since I was buying my own editing software.

i have a lil money to spend on myself and really want an alienware m17x laptop but i want it to be able to play most computer games on high resolution. i would love to get the full upgrade but im dont want to spend $6,000 on upgrades, accessories and everything else.. what do i need to know about the specs so i dont overclock the system and burn it out?

I’ll start by giving you a list of what I’ve found regarding specs and then the most notebook (and accessories) for the best price and then can you tell me what you think?
100+ GB Hard Drive
2+ GB RAM
512+ MB video card (which brand is best?)
2+ GHZ processor
I’ve found HP, IBM Lenovo, Compaq, and Fujitsu to be the most notebook for the best price.
