Are There Any Advantages Of A Laptop Vs A Desktop Or Vice Versa For A Student?
I’ve just graduated from high school and was promised a computer as a graduation present. We’ve been shopping and comparing on dell.com because of a discount my dad gets through his job, but we were wondering what are the advantages of either a laptop or a desktop. I was comparing the XPS 420 desktop series and the M1530 laptop series and found, after customizing and selecting accessories, the laptop to be cheaper (by about a hundred or so dollars) but the desktop was marginally powerful. The primary function for this computer will be school but I do tend to play games such as RF Online or Lineage II in my free time. I don’t know, really.

Both are nylon, have a mesh netting inside, zippers and velcro. The laptop case has a softer inside. I don’t want to throw them away, but I really don’t want to ruin them either. Any ideas?
Buying A Cheap Old Laptop – Advice?

I am asking for your advice – I need a cheap laptop to create WORD documents, that I can transfer on a flash drive. That is all I need – no other fancy programs or gadgets, internet, editing, anything – just plug it in, make a doc, done. There are 3 cheap laptop options in my local classifieds I have emailed for more details. I want something basic around $50 that won’t be a headache or virus-ridden. Are there systems etc that I should avoid? Any advice on making a good choice?
