Buying a used Apple laptop…How old is too old to bother getting?

I saw an Apple laptop in a second-hand store. I do not know how old she is, or something else to learn. I’ve never used an Apple before. What should I look?
I would not pay money to a little over 2 years, ant two years to buy their arrival on the weak side. If you are looking for a study / internet machine something is going to be in 04 for it is great. If you go all the way a player is actually nothing before 2007
