I Am Having Problems With My Laptop At The Beginning Of Startup?
Whenever I first boot up my computer and i get to the home screen, I try to open programs but none of them are responsive. The start menu is the only thing that will open but from there, nothing else will open, not even accessories under the start menu. Help me, i’m begging you!!! I have a Compaq Presario V2500 with Windows XP Professional Edition, with an AMD Processor Mobile Edition with 256 MB of Ram.

press alt-alt-delete, when the task message show up, go to process, search for explorer.exe, and click on end process, now go to application, new task, type in explorer.exe. that should do it. Another problem may cause ur programs running so slow, because too many program running, go to run, type in msconfig, go to start up, unselect unnessary stuff, and restart. or you need to buy more ram, 256 is too low.

You have a too many programs running at start up. Go to the msconfig menu and run a “minimum” or “selective” start up.

Just to clarify, does the computer actually start eventually or is this all it will do? Please add additional info so I can help further?
If it it just whilst it is starting, go to Start > Run and type “msconfig” without the inverted commas, click “startup” and uncheck unnecesary programs that have to load before you can use your computer. Removing unnecessary icons from your desktop to you My Documents folder will also quicken the process.
